Social Policy
Alexander Hertel-Fernandez is a second year PhD student in Government and Social Policy. His research interests include social insurance, taxes, inequality, and the politics of business and labor organization in advanced democracies. He received his B.A. with honors in Political Science from Northwestern University in 2008. After graduation he received a fellowship from the Roosevelt Institute to work at the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, DC with a focus on health reform and Social Security. Alexander also enjoys attempting to cook, sailing, and marathon running.
