Detlef von Daniels is Fellow at the Max-Weber-Center for Advanced Culturaland Social Studies at the University of Erfurt, Germany. He received his Ph.D from University of Göttingen in 2006. His book on The Concept of Law from a Transnational Perspective, examining how current changes in the course of globalization can be integrated into legal theory, will be published in 2010. His main research interests include legal philosophy, political philosophy, and bioethics. He is currently working on a monograph about the idea of the Commonwealth as a form of a post-statal politicaltheory.
