Patrick Riley

Patrick Riley received his M.Phil. from The London School of Economics in 1964 (under Michael Oakeshott). He later received his PhD. from Harvard under Louis Hartz, John Rawls, Carl Friedrich, and Judith Shklar. He has taught at Harvard, Wisconsin-Madison, Oxford, Florence, Aix-en-Provence, and Berlin, specializing in the political-moral philosophy of Kant, Rousseau, and Leibniz. His latest book, on “Jurisprudence” from Grotius to Rawls appears in Berlin in Spring 2009.
