International Relations and Political Economy
I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Government and a graduate student affiliate of the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs. I study international relations and political economy, in particular the politics of international trade. I am also interested in Middle East politics and political methodology.
My dissertation examines the political economy of trade in industries with intra-industry trade and firm heterogeneity in exporting. It develops a new model of firm preferences over trade liberalization and examines trade policy determination by a government in both cooperative and non-cooperative settings. It also empirically documents the existence of divisions within industries over trade policy.
