Biographical Note:

My research interests include the political economy of development, decolonization, transnational institutions, and EU security and defense policy. In particular, I focus on relationships between former European colonizers and former sub-Saharan African colonies. I graduated from Washington University in 2006 with a B.A. in political science and minors in economics and French. As a 2006-07 Fulbright fellow at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, I analyzed Belgium's recent use of national and EU institutions to intervene in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
