Undergraduate Program

For Juniors

Your junior year as a Government concentrator offers many different opportunities.  You can study a topic of current interest in political science with a faculty member in a small group environment by electing either a Gov 90 or Gov 98 in the Department's undergraduate seminar program. Note that at least one junior research seminar (Gov 98) is required for potential thesis writers and is a great way to experience a research-intensive seminar even for those who are not planning to write a thesis.  You can study abroad, either for the experience or to conduct research for a thesis.  And, of course, you can explore the many fascinating courses offered in the Government Department.  Your concentration adviser and the staff in CGIS are happy to help you navigate these options.
