Hi! My name is Shalini and I'm a rising Senior in Winthrop House concentrating in government with a secondary in medical anthropology.
Initially, I was one of those kids stuck between majoring in social studies or gov, and now I am more than happy that I have chosen the latter. I've always been interested in understanding how the world works, particularly in global politics, and I eventually want to go to law school. I've taken a variety of courses in the subfields of gov, and a few anthropology courses, and I would love to answer any questions you may have.
Extracurricularly, I have volunteered for the Mission Hill After School Program, and I am also on the Crimson, the Harvard Speech and Parliamentary Debate Society, and an advocate for Health Leads, a non-profit organization that connects low-income patients with basic resources. Last summer I interned at a health policy and community development NGO in Delhi, India that works to deliver healthcare to slum areas, and the previous summer I interned for my Canadian Member of Parliament. My summer before senior year I will be in Rio de Janeiro doing thesis research on housing rights and mega-sporting events.
Please get in touch if you have any questions at all and I would be more than happy to tell you as much as I can.
