Lucas Santos

I’ve been with the Government Department for just over 8 months. As the Financial Assistant, I support the Department’s day-to-day operations by handling AP, card, and reimbursement processing. I assist the finance team with year-end closing preparation and serve as a point of contact for faculty on policies, procedures, and systems. In collaboration with my team, we launched the Department’s first-ever Finance Newsletter and work on a variety of projects intended to improve financial communication and understanding. I like knowing that my work helps make things a little easier for everyone else to focus on their teaching, research, and events.

Outside of work, I enjoy sports like basketball and soccer, going to the movies, and discovering new music. I also love traveling and getting the chance to explore new cultures. My family is from Brazil, so I especially love visiting when I can. It’s always fun to reconnect and spend time with family and friends.
