Academic Coordinator

I’ve been with the department since 2016. Over the years, I’ve worked on different projects with my colleagues, and sometimes it has felt like I’m the department’s ‘jack of all trades’. Nowadays, I mainly focus on running junior faculty searches and managing research visitors’ appointments. What I like about my job is that it’s never boring – there is always something new to learn. What I enjoy the most is interacting with people, whether they are job talk candidates coming for a short visit or research visitors staying longer – I always try to make them feel at home here, and I really hope they leave feeling welcomed and wanting to come back.
Outside of work, I am usually out exploring new places, taking long walks with our greyhound, working in my garden, or just relaxing with a good book. I also love spending time with my family and friends, whether that’s in-person or over the phone.
I’m from Ukraine. You can often hear me talking to my colleagues or students about my country of birth. I share with them fascinating and breathtaking stories from Ukraine’s past, as well as inspiring and resilient stories about the people and the country today. I often think that New England, and Boston in particular, is a place to be for a proud Ukrainian like me – embracing the brave, revolutionary spirit of Massachusetts.
