Conner Huey
Peer Concentration Counselor
Class of 2025 (Dunster House)

Hi everyone! My name is Conner Huey and I’m a Junior in Dunster House joint-concentrating in Government and History. I’m originally from Bremerton, WA and I’m excited to be a Peer Concentration Counselor for this year!

My interests in the Government concentration revolve primarily around the American subfield with particular focuses on realignment, democracy reform, and 20th-century American political history. Some of my favorite classes include my sophomore tutorial on Inequality and the American Welfare State with Elizabeth Thom; Gov 1041: Justice by Means of Democracy with Professor Danielle Allen; and Gov 1290: Democracy and Authoritarianism with Professor Steve Levitsky.

Outside of the classroom, I have enjoyed participating in many different extracurriculars. I am a cadet in the Army ROTC, sing with the Harvard Glee Club, and serve as a FUP Leader. I have also been involved in various leadership capacities with the Small Claims Advisory Service, the Undergraduate Legal Committee, and the Institute of Politics. Beyond Harvard, I am an active volunteer with the Scouts.

Internships and work experience have also played an important role in shaping my learning at Harvard. After my first year, I interned at the White House for the Council on Environmental Quality, where I focused on climate adaptation issues, and leveraging foreign government and private sector relationships to fight climate change. This past summer, I interned with my U.S. Representative Derek Kilmer (WA-06) where I worked on Congressional modernization and defense issues. Currently, I work as an intern for the Harvard Law Review and as a research assistant for Professor Noah Feldman at Harvard Law School. I previously worked with Professor Jim Snyder and worked as an intern at the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau.

Please reach out if you would like to speak with me about anything related to Government or life at Harvard, especially if you’re thinking about pursuing a joint concentration! Working with the Peer Concentration Counselors has been incredibly helpful in clarifying my academic interests and I would be eager to provide you with the same support that I received. I look forward to chatting with you soon!
