I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Government Department at Harvard. My research interests include civil war, state-building, democratization, climate change, and machine learning. My regional interests are in the Horn of Africa, and the Middle East and North Africa region. I use non-parametric machine learning techniques such as Bayesian Additive Regression Trees and Artificial Neural Networks in addition to traditional quantitative methods.
