
Haidun Liu is a Ph.D. candidate in Government at Harvard University, specializing in political theory. His dissertation examines the history of supererogation—the idea of doing more than duty requires—with a focus on debates emerging from the Protestant Reformation and their implications for ethics, law, and political thought. His broader interests include the political theory of the American founding, ancient Greek political thought, and the history of political representation. He is a Graduate Affiliate of the Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies, and has assisted in teaching courses on the American founding, political republicanism, and ethics. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy and History from Columbia University.
