Toby Nwafor
Peer Concentration Counselor
Class of 2025 (Lowell House)

Hi! My name is Toby Nwafor, and I’m a junior in Lowell House from Dallas, Texas. I’m a joint concentrator in both Government and History with a focus in political economy. I’m very excited to be a Government Peer Concentration Counselor this year!

I chose Government as my concentration because it allows me to study a variety of topics in a unique way. I can study politics, economics, international relations, religion, and a whole bunch of other topics in a qualitative manner, which is unlike any other concentration at Harvard. If you have any questions about deciding between concentrations within the social sciences or humanities, hit me up!

Outside of the government department, I spend most of my time at Newell Boathouse (these days we train out of Weld Boathouse due to the renovations) on the Men’s Heavyweight Crew team. Additionally, I’m involved in Harvard College Consulting Group, and I do research in a variety of departments at the College. Outside of school, I’ve interned at a variety of finance, banking, and investment firms. I’m more than willing to chat about my experiences in any of these extracurricular activities.

Let me know if wanna talk about deciding between concentrations, balancing being a student-athlete, applying to finance jobs as a social sciences/humanities concentrator, or anything else — I’m genuinely thrilled to chat or get a meal in the Square! Looking forward to meeting you all this year!
